About the Role
We are looking for Senior Full-Stack Engineer to design, build, and scale our end-to-end web applications. In this role, you will hold comprehensive ownership of features—from user stories to production logs. You will craft highly responsive frontends using React, while building efficient, parallelized, and secure backend systems leveraging both Node.js and Python.
Key Responsibilities:
- React is essential, along with state management for a long multi-step process that has to survive being abandoned and resumed days later. Redux, Zustand, Context or an argued alternative all count.
- js or Python service development is required, with depth in one framework and working competence in the other. Neither is fixed yet, so the reasoning matters more than the specific choice.
- REST API design, documentation and security are core to the seat, since the services are planned as REST.
- Relational schema design, data modeling and query tuning. Aurora Serverless v2 on PostgreSQL is proposed and Compass has been asked to confirm it against SQL Server, so experience on either engine works.
- Role-based access control and multi-step approval workflows should have been implemented before, against an enterprise identity provider with single sign-on.
- File upload and validation experience is needed, with error reporting that a non-technical person outside the organization can act on without help.
- Git and continuous integration, along with comfort deploying into a pipeline someone else governs.
Useful additions
- TypeScript is preferred rather than required, since the design names React and leaves the language choice open.
- Server-side document generation from templates, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
- AWS experience across ECS, S3, CloudFront, Aurora and asynchronous processing.
- Experience working without a designer, covering wireframing, interaction judgment, and the confidence to put a rough screen in front of a subject-matter expert early.
- Accessibility practice.
